1. Elm Creek Park Reserve

Explore the reserve on 20 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails that offer picturesque views of the wetlands and woodlands. The reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife, and you may encounter deer, beavers, eagles, hawks, cranes, bluebirds, loons, and swans along the trails.
The dog-friendly reserve also set aside 4.3 miles of trails for skijoring and dog sledding and a 29-acre fenced area where your pooch can run around freely. It’s a popular winter destination for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. In summer, you can play disc golf on the 18-hole course, practice your aim at the 30-acre archery range, and take a dip in the chlorinated and filtered swim pond complete with a sandy beach.
Campsites
Pitch your tent or park your RV in peaceful seclusion at Rush Creek Group Camp. Each site has a fire ring and near the water pump and pit latrines. There is also a primitive horse camp and beautiful camper cabins in a remote area near the trails. The camper cabins have electricity, ceiling fans, and heating, with a drinking fountain and restrooms nearby.
2. Baker Park Reserve
Camp out near beautiful Lake Independence in the 2,700-acre Baker Park Reserve and fish, boat, kayak, and canoe on Spurzem Lake, Half Moon Lake, and of course, Lake Independence. The reserve has one of the best 18-hole championship golf courses in the region, a nine-hole executive course, a driving range, and practice facilities.
Over 19 miles of hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, skiing, skijoring, dog sledding, and snowshoeing trails wind through the reserve. In the summer months, you can laze the days away on the two swimming beaches on Lake Independence that provide scenic views of the lake and the surrounding countryside.
Campsites
Barker Park Reserve has over 200 RV and tent campsites on the lawns between the trees and offers a few camp options. You can stay at campsites with or without electrical hookups or in camper cabins with screened porches, electricity, and heating. The campground and camper cabins are near restrooms with showers and flush toilets, and drinking water. Five group campsites range from open-air sites to campsites with shelters.
3. Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park
Kick back and relax in peaceful tranquility in the beautiful Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park on the south shore of the picturesque 780-acre Cedar Lake. Fish, swim, geocache, and camp in scenic surroundings and observe the birdlife in the mature oak trees. The park has a one-mile paved dog-friendly hiking and biking trail and excellent boating and paddling opportunities on Cedar Lake. The lake has a boat launch, a fishing pier, and watercraft rentals.
Campsites
Stay at a tent site in the shade of the trees at the Cedarview Group Campsite. There is a grill, fire pit, shelter, and a boat dock near the campsite. The park charges an additional fee for electricity at the sites.
